feat: log compaction tests and doc 

1. Refine and document the behavior of
  - `RaftSpaceAccess::entries()`
  - `raft::Storage::entries()`
  - `raft::Storage::term()`
  - `raft::Storage::first_index()`
  - `raft::Storage::last_index()`

2. Test it intensively.
